Profile
Mr. Martin Massawe currently is the Associate Dean and Head of the Department of Civil and Criminal Law at the Faculty of Law, Mzumbe University. As a Lecturer at Mzumbe University, his main duties are among others, Lecturing, Conducting Seminars, doing researches and Consultancy in the areas of, but not limited to, Human Rights, Local Government Laws, Business Law (Corporate Law and Governance), Commercial Laws (Insurance, Banking, Sale of Goods and Negotiable Instruments), Law of Contract, Tax Law, Criminal Law and Procedure, Civil Procedure, Law of Evidence, Administrative Law, etc. Between May 2015 and April 2016, Mr. Massawe was involved as a Researcher in a “study of drivers of violence against children and positive change in Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar”. The Study was commissioned by UNICEF to Mzumbe University and University of Huddersfield. He has also conducted other consultancy activities including Drafting of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment’s (E-Waste) Regulations commissioned by the Vice President’s Office (2013-2014) and Training on Legislative Drafting Skills for State Attorneys and Legal Officers organized by Legal Sector Reform Programme-Zanzibar (2014).
